Healthconnect And Trizetto Provide Information Website To New York Citizens

Service organizations designed to assist municipalities in making health care information available to the public are gaining ground as seen in New York City where two such organizations, HealthConnect and TriZetto have helped the City of New York to establish a service website for its citizens. HealthConnect and TriZetto function to help governmental organizations that have a desire to implement health insurance exchanges, which are also called connectors. Through these exchanges governmental organizations provide citizens access to a wide range of health plans from several health providers.

Experts Concerned That Health Care Reform Proposals Will Make Health Care More Expensive For Ohioans

It was announced today through the Ohio Association of Health Plans (OAHP) that Ohioans should experience heftier health care premiums accompanied by less robust benefits. This is expected to occur if the current comprehensive health care reform proposals being considered by Congress as part of new legislation, are to pass into law.

Unions Make Demands For Insurance Audit

Presently there are 3 city unions that are requesting that an independent audit of the Medical Insurance Trust Fund by carried out, saying that the city has failed to pay its fair share into the account and at the same time they are overcharging retirees and employees. They say that this has been going on since 2005.

According to the unions, grievances have been submitted to the state Division of Labor Relations.

North Adams Mayor John Barrett III referred to the claims that are being made by the North Adams Firefighters Association, North Adams Teachers Association, and North Adams Police Association and, both ludicrous and ridiculous. He cites the fact that as required by state law, the city undergoes an independent audit each fiscal year.

Commentary: Health Care Outrage Goes Undiscovered

Very few have heard of Robin Beaton. This is the problem with the debate over health care reform.

Beaton, who is retired nurse living in Waxahachie, Texas, thought she had health insurance. Every month she faithfully paid her premiums, but she was dumped by Blue Cross, her health insurance company, when she was diagnosed with aggressive breast cancer.

According to Blue Cross, the fact that she had seen a dermatologist for acne, allowed the company to drop her coverage because of a dermatologist who mistakenly entered a notation on her chart that suggested her simple acne was a precancerous condition.

Health Care's Big Secret - Even The 'Uninsured' Are Satisfied With Their Coverage

Since it has now been found that most Americans are happy with the coverage they receive, there's no reason to nationalize health care. This is even true of most of those who don't have health insurance.

According to an article in Regulation magazine this week, 89% of Americans are satisfied with their personal medical care. During the prior year, regarding those with insurance who had suffered a serious illness, 93 percent say they were satisfied with their healthcare, while 95 percent of those who suffered chronic illness report being satisfied with their health care.
